The Whitechapel Gallery has been transformed by artists Jake and Dinos Chapman into a space for families to delight in the macabre.

Kids will love the modern-day fairytales told in poetry and illustrated with fantastical drawings.

The show includes work from Jake and Dinos Chapman’s forthcoming book, Bedtime Tales for Sleepless Nights, and prints from the Gigantic Fun series.

The exhibition is accompanied by the artists’ colouring book, which is on sale at the gallery for £4.95.

Free Family Events at Whitechapel Gallery

To coincide with the exhibition, there’s a series of free artist-led events for kids aged six to 14:

• Create Your Own Bedtime Tales. Free illustration and poetry workshops with Jake and Dinos Chapman. Date tbc
• Scarytails and Fairytales. Get into the Halloween spirit with an evening of spooky fun and squeamish tales. 30 Oct, 5-6pm

Jake and Dinos Chapman will also open The London Art Book Fair at the Whitechapel Gallery with a discussion of their exhibition followed by a book signing. 24 Sep, 12 pm
